Jason Klein is an experienced media CEO, advisor, and builder of digital and traditional businesses who has led two successful turnarounds.
Jason was most recently President and CEO of Newspaper National Network LP, a partnership of 25 leading local media companies to provide a national network for local advertisers which includes Tribune, Gannett, Advance Newhouse, and Hearst.
Prior to NNN, Jason was CEO of Times Mirror Magazines, a leading magazine publisher with $300 million in revenue and 25 titles including Golf Magazine, Popular Science, Transworld Skateboarding, and Skiing. He ran Times Mirror Magazines during the sale of its parent company to Tribune, and through its sale to Time Inc. for $475 million.
Jason spent six years as a strategy consultant with McKinsey, where he developed growth strategies for media and consumer goods companies, and began his career at Bain & Company in Menlo Park, CA. Jason also ran strategic development for Times Mirror’s medical and professional division. He is a founder of MDconsult.com, an aggregator of medical information for professionals, now owned by Elsevier. He also founded Healthy Living Media, a private-equity backed venture, with North Castle Partners.
Jason holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB from Dartmouth College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude in computer science. He is Board Chair of the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, and on the boards of the e-commerce solution company 72Lux, the New York City Police Foundation, and Harvard Business School Angels of NY.
